GLASSHOUSE
HORIZONTAL SCREENING

Ebtech Glasshouses offers horizontal screening systems in various applications. The type of screen chosen depends on the crop being grown, as well as the other requirements for optimum climate control.

Do you want to save energy? Protect your crops from harsh sunlight? Restrict the emission of light? A complete black-out system?

The fabric chosen ultimately determines how the horizontal screening system will function. Combinations are, of course, possible. Bespoke screening systems are available for a wide variety of crops.

BESPOKE SCREENING SYSTEMS

Single Screen

The single screen system is usually mounted onto the upper support column of the truss.

Double Screen

In a double screen system, the second screen is usually mounted near the lower support column.

Triple Screen

The demand for more screening options is increasing, particularly in the floriculture sector. The screen at the centre is mounted in the middle of the truss.

2 Screens, 1 Wire Bed

In greenhouses that have already been built, it may not be possible to use the lower support column for a second screen. Two screens on a single wire bed can help save energy and make use of assimilation lighting at the same time.

VERTICAL SCREENING

Vertical screening using roll tube screens has become very popular for providing shade to end & side walls, as well as making a convenient form of partitioning to create different compartments.

Screens are available as single or twin rolling system, operated via a tubular motor. The screen cloth is a thicker material to that found in a horizontal screening system.

Roll screens can also be used in the roof of wide span glasshouses.

APEX SCREENING

Ebtech Glasshouse Systems Ltd can supply & install Apex screens within your glasshouse, designed to assist with energy saving in the glasshouse.

A non-moving triangular section of foil screening  is installed across the glasshouse width within the apex of the roof.

Apex screens are designed to work in conjunction with lower horizontal screens to maximise heat retention and restrict cold air movement.

INSECT
NETTING

Insect netting plays an essential role in crop production.

It has proven to be an effective measure to keep harmful insects outside or to retain useful insects inside the greenhouse. By installing netting in roof vents, the chance of an insect infestation is reduced. Pesticides are not necessary anymore, resulting in a cleaner crop
