Edward Baarda Ltd - Screening Renovation

Ebtech Glasshouse Systems recently completed a comprehensive thermal screening renovation covering 9,954 m² for Edward Baarda Ltd, a leading tomato and cucumber grower. The project involved the replacement of all nylon top and bottom wires, steel drive wires, and sealing pelmets, as well as the installation of new drive shaft bearings and high-performance screening cloth.

For this renovation, the team selected Svensson B.V.’s Luxous Light FR cloth, a fire-retardant material that delivers a 13% direct shading value and achieves up to 47% energy savings. Additionally, Ebtech installed new apex screens between two of the glasshouses, further enhancing climate control and energy efficiency.

This upgrade has provided Edward Baarda Ltd with improved environmental management within their glasshouses, contributing to better crop conditions and operational cost savings.
