Newey Ltd - Blackout screening installation
Ebtech Glasshouse Systems have recently completed a challenging blackout screening project at Newey’s Nursery in Chichester, West Sussex.
We installed a horizontal Ludvig Svensson blackout screen cloth, type Obscura 10070 FR WB + B, covering an area of 3,628.80m². The horizontal screen was mounted on a rack & pinion system to ensure smooth operation and durability.
The project’s complexity came with the installation of a 90m side wall roll screen, cloth type Obscura 10070 R FR W, along with two gable wall roll screens. In addition, numerous fixed blackout cloth sections of varying widths and depths were fitted to navigate around pipework, electrical trays, and behind interface panels.
Even the door glass was fully screened, ensuring the greenhouse achieved a complete blackout environment – perfectly timed and ready for the poinsettia season.
This was a technically demanding project, but our team successfully delivered a precise and reliable solution, once again demonstrating Ebtech’s expertise in complex glasshouse screening systems.
