PROJECT

Levity Crop Science - New Glasshouse

Ebtech Glasshouse Systems recently completed a bespoke glasshouse installation for a scientific research facility in Lancashire. Although compact, the project involved complex engineering due to its elevated foundation requirements and integration with the site's existing infrastructure.

The Venlo-style glasshouse was directly connected to an existing brick laboratory building. The structure comprises two zones: one measuring 4.0m by 8.0m, and the other 8.0m by 8.0m with a post height of 3.0m. Each zone features 3 pane vents on alternate sides of the ridge controlled by Ridder drive units, ensuring effective ventilation. A sliding partition door allows internal access between the two zones, supporting flexible use for different research functions. To maintain architectural continuity, a perimeter brick wall was constructed to visually match the adjacent lab building.
