Hilliers Nurseries - Turnkey Polyhouse

In collaboration with our Dutch partner, VDH Agrowser, who constructed the structure of the new multispan polyhouse, Ebtech Glasshouse Systems undertook the project management and all health & safety under CDM regulations. We also undertook the complete installation of internal services, beginning with groundworks and drainage.

Our scope included the creation of internal pathways, external roadways, land levelling, and the installation of internal ground cover.

We installed a horizontal shade screen covering 1,990m² of the structure, complemented by an overhead sprinkler system and a sand bed trickle irrigation set up. Additionally, a rainwater harvesting system was implemented, capturing runoff from the roof gutters and storing it in two large water storage tanks totalling 535,000 litres.

To ensure precise environmental management, we installed advanced electrical and control systems and air circulation fans. This included a Hortaco controller to manage ventilation windows and the shading system, alongside a Heron irrigation controller. Both environmental control systems are integrated through a custom-built manual interface, offering seamless operational control.
