Replacing a rolling side screen.
Ebtech Glasshouse Systems were asked to replace an old worn rolling side screen at the site of Earley Ornamentals in North Yorkshire.
With the existing roll screen ripped open and flapping, it was essential it be replaced as it was causing problems for the light levels and temperatures required for the young plants.
We replaced the top pelmet with new Luxous 1347 FR and the roll screen with a Solar woven material, both from the Ludvig Svensson range.
The two combined closed off any unwanted draughts or air movement between the two separate zones.
As part of the project we also replaced all the steel wires, weights, guide carriages and roll tube.
The system was provided with new manual winding gears to enable easy operation of the screen when the container benching needed to pass between zones.
The roll screen provided a significant difference to the temperature and light levels between the zones.
The work was carried out in conjunction with the replacement of the sliding strip curtains.
